Creativity, Words & Ideas have the power to change the world. Our creativity is valuable. our words are powerful. They can bring life or death. Our ideas are important. The decisions we make in our journey are vital. Our purpose is far greater than to serve ourselves. We can use our arts and gifts to share an important message. I believe each of us has something to contribute. We can choose fear or love - it's ultimately our choice. But either to be passionately active or actively passive - both, our action and inaction will have a direct and tangible outcome in our own lives and the world we live in. Remember, Remember, Remember - the core of who we are is constantly refined and defined by our growth in character, not money and recognition. We fight or we give up. We hide or we find courage. We start now or we keep procrastinating. We stay stuck, or we move forward. It's all a choice, all day, everyday. Each and every moment. We've got the power.
I think collaboration is so powerful and important for our generation. Hope is necessary because it guides us towards seeing a promise fulfilled. Love and creativity inspire us to act. When we think of ourselves in a global context, it's humbling and beautiful. We can't afford not to care about the world we live in and our humankind. Our fragile world needs us now - our government needs our voice, our people need us, our environment needs us, our community needs us - now, more than ever. As global citizens, if we begin to love our world and take ownership of it, wouldn't we desire to be good stewards of our humanity, our environment, our resources, and our relationships with others? I believe it starts small first. I used to carry the word "JUSTICE" in my vocabulary so intensely and heavily- with an attitude that carried a hint of retribution almost. Justice soon became strictly a term synonymous to fighting for injustices that violate basic human rights - like human trafficking, etc. But it doesn't always have to be so big and intense. It's a chain reaction and it starts with us first.
I think true activism and justice starts with us at the core of who we are and what we want. A powerful revelation for me has been redefining my approach to Justice: love. Thus, the inspiration for my blog haha --- "JUSTISLOVE." There's no hidden motive in real love. If we truly desire it, without compromise we truly treasure that - "no act of kindness, no matter how small is ever wasted." (AESOP).
In the context of love, I've witnessed the most effortless and strategic forms of justice bearing fruits of restoration and redemption, transformation, flourishing businesses, celebration over comparison, collaboration, and the power of community. There is nothing too small nor big. There is no excuse for anything. Love does. Love bears. Love acts. So let's make our lives count. Let's make our love count. Together, we've got the power to simultaneously be a voice and agent(s) of change.
